Rotoplast (Venezuela) 🇻🇪 White String
Rotoplast (Venezuela) 🇻🇪 White String
--
Rotoplast never ceases to surprise us. It seems each figure produced had a unique fingerprint in terms of combinations of color, use of materials and sometimes even molds. This is particularly evident as you approach the end of the line.
We see a re-use of materials, molds, and colors between figures that otherwise were not shared. This is evident for example, with various figures released with he-man shorts, such as Zodac, Whiplash, Mekaneck, Buzz-off, etc... We have variations of Whiplash that used Kobra Khan arms as well.
Why is this so? There are various theories, such as poor quality control, lack of consistent availability of the same color/materials, to a rush to finish as many figures as they could before contracts would run out.
Webstor’s string variation is well known. While most Webstors used a standard black string, a less common (but not terribly rare) white string variant exists. What was unknown until recently is that Beastman possibly came with a “white string” whip variant, as opposed to its standard green whip version.
Legit variation, custom or color degradation? That is a tough one to decide. It seems Rotoplast has a track record of reusing components. The whip doesn't appear to be altered, and the string is very similar to the Webstor string. You don't generally see Rotoplast with color degradation. Leo and Aurimat tend to be the lines that suffer the most from color change.
Regardless, it makes for an interesting addition to the collection.
