How Many Leo Skeletor Armor Variants Are Out There?

People ask me all the time how many different Leo Skeletor armor variants exist. The truth is—it’s a tough question. There aren’t a ton of mint-on-card (MOC) examples out there, and the plastic Leo used doesn’t exactly age gracefully. Over time, it tends to fade, discolor, harden, and even leech paint depending on how it's been stored or exposed.

Because of that, we’re mostly working with educated guesses based on the loose figures we’ve been able to find and how their plastic has held up over the years. Here’s a breakdown of the color families I’ve come across in my own research and collecting:

Magenta
This one’s a bright, bold color when fresh, but it can fade into pink or darken over time. The pink versions usually feel more rigid. Magenta and pink seem to be the rarest of the bunch.

Purples
This group includes lilac, light purple, dark purple, and plum. Plum especially tends to darken and stiffen with age. Purples are still pretty rare, just not as hard to find as the magentas.

Blues
Blue armor usually fades into a grayish color and sometimes takes on a greenish-blue tone. These faded blues are fairly common and show up often in collections.

Blacks
Black armor tends to fade into brown, and these faded black/brown variants are by far the most common ones out there. You’ll see these more than any other color.
