Roboto

Roboto

SUMMARY:

The Rotoplast Roboto can be identified primarily by its missing chest circuit board. All Robotos except the Rotoplast have a clear circuit board that covers most of the torso. The figure also has bright silver boots (brighter than a HK) and does not suffer from the paint leeching, unlike the common Hong Kong.

The figure is marked © MATTEL. INC. 1984 (in uppercase)  in the back of the head, as opposed to the Hong Kong version that is marked in the same way but lowercase behind the head. Both the Rotoplast and Hong Kong are marked © Mattel Inc. 1984 in the torso.

All accessories are unmarked except for batch or serial numbers. They are similar to HK accessories but have a somewhat different chrome pattern on them, batch numbers are marked slightly different, and they tend to be somewhat less refined in quality.

Roboto and Ninjor were released in the last wave, which lead to them being produced in lower quantities, and being harder to find in general than other characters in the line.
