Prince Adam

SUMMARY:

The Taiwan Prince Adam is characterized by its soft head with bright yellow hair, fine features in the face identical to a Taiwan He-Man, light lavender pants and purple boots, a fine felt vest with various stitch variants, and a bright pink sword.

The figure came in 2 marking variants, 3 vest variations, and 2 sword variants.

The first release figure came marked © Mattel, Inc. 1981 TAIWAN on the figure, and had a fine, three-piece stitched vest. The sword is Marked TAIWAN perpendicular to the blade, and has the #13 batch number, using the Taiwan He-Man mold.

The following release is still marked © Mattel, Inc. 1981 TAIWAN on the figure, but the vest is now one piece. It does have some stitching on the shoulders for aesthetic purposes.

The last release of prince adam is marked © Mattel, Inc. 1982 TAIWAN. It no longer has stitching on the vest, and the sword, while still pink, now uses the Battle Armor He-Man mold (higher batch numbers in the 30s, with vertical TAIWAN markings along the blade.

DISCLAIMER: The pairing of figure to vest to sword has been done based on a survey of loose complete figures found, but its important to note that they are not 100% confirmed pairings. While it seems that the 3 piece was the initial vest, loose examples of other combinations have been found suggesting they were probably paired randomly. I’ve found loose examples of the #13 sword (the most common one) with all 3 figure/vest variations.
