SUMMARY:
Kobra Khan, the “evil master of snakes,” was produced in Taiwan, Mexico (Aurimat), Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, India, and France. Equipped with the ability to control his prey with his “evil hypnotic mist,” he can spray water stored in his chest chamber by pressing down on his head.
The Taiwan Kobra Khan features a light green body, dark brown boots and shorts, light brown straps with gaps between each, lime eyeliner, and a bright lime belt. The figure is marked © Mattel Inc. 1983 TAIWAN, and the gun is also marked TAIWAN.
The figure has at least three COO mark variations: the standard-sized TAIWAN marking, the standard TAIWAN marking with large © Mattel Inc., and a rare variant with a very small TAIWAN mark. This version with the small mark shares the mold used for the Aurimat Kobra Khan that was sent to Mexico for the Los Amos production.
The boot color can vary slightly, both in color (darker vs. lighter feet) and finish (glossy vs. matte), but it's unclear if these are the result of weathering, factory variance, or legitimate production differences.
The blaster is light orange, rigid plastic, and marked TAIWAN. It can have TAIWAN on the left or right side.
