Clamp Champ

SUMMARY:
Clamp Champ, the “heroic master of capture” was just produced in Malaysia and Spain. The figure comes with a clamp that can pinch and capture another figure by squeezing its trigger. The figure also comes with removable armor and a twisting punch action. 

The Malaysia Clamp Champ can be identified by its head molded in black, with its face painted brown. This is the inverse of the Spain figure that has the head molded in brown, with the hair painted black. The silver highlights are matte, the belt is fully painted, has bright red shorts, and boots with mid-boot (red) paint.

The figure is marked MALAYSIA, the armor is marked MALAYSIA © MATTEL INC. 1983, and the clamp is marked © MATTEL INC. 1986 MALAYSIA. The armor is a lighter blue than its Spain counterpart, has matte silver highlights, and the weapon has a glossy finish.

This figure is commonly seen (but not always) with black virus markings. This is not a variation per se, but rather, a defect in the plastic.
