SUMMARY:
Jitsu, the “Evil Master of Martial Arts”, was produced in Hong Kong, Mexico (Aurimat), Argentina (Top Toys), France, Spain and India. This figure comes with removable armor and a katana. Jitsu has a twisting punch action as well as a spring-loaded chopping right arm.
The Leo India Jitsu features the smooth shorts typical of Leo figures, dark brown skin tones, a red-molded chrome chopping hand, and mid-height black boots without gold trim.
The figure is marked © Mattel Inc. 1983 (with the country of origin erased). The armor carries the mark © MATTEL INC 1983 across three lines, and the sword is marked 4924-2039, often accompanied by a batch number such as 1, 2, or 3.
Most Leo India Jitsu figures have a soft rubber head, but some rare examples with small, very hard heads are known. It remains unclear whether these hardened heads are the result of weathering over time or if they represent a distinct factory variation. Additionally, while the head is generally a dark brown tone, some examples can appear exceptionally dark.
