SUMMARY:
Mekaneck, the “Heroic human periscope!”, was produced in Malaysia, Venezuela, Spain, Mexico (Mabamex), Mexico (Aurimat), France and Argentina. With the turn of the waist, Mekaneck’s head pops up. The figure comes with removable armor and a club.
The Mekaneck is characterized by pale skin tones, a dark blue body tint, and opaque red armor.
Released in the second year of the Los Amos del Universo production (1985), Mekaneck is marked © MATTEL INC. 1983 FRANCE in the lower back (all in one line), and © MATTEL. INC. 1983 behind the helmet and on the armor. The weapon is unmarked, rigid, and a vibrant yellow. The hand has a pronounced callus in the right hand for better handling of weapons.
The following year (1986) Aurimat released Mekaneck with Malaysia molds. The figure and the armor are marked © MATTEL INC. 1983 MALAYSIA (2 lines), and the weapon is marked MALAYSIA. The weapon is rigid, and has a more orange hue than its first-wave counterpart. The hand still retains the callus, but it's more subtle than the first wave figure.
