SUMMARY:
Clawful, the "warrior with the grip of evil!", was produced in Hong Kong, Mexico (Aurimat), Argentina, Venezuela, France, Spain, and India.
The Aurimat Clawful is characterized by its intense blue tones in the belt/boots, soft head, opaque red armor with bold, dark brown strokes, and a light skin tone that tends to color-shift to a gray-brown.
This figure was released in the third year of the Los Amos del Universo production (1986). It was released with 2 different torso variants. A torso marked © MATTEL. INC. 1981 and a torso marked © MATTEL. INC. 1981 MALAYSIA. This is very curious, as Clawful was never made in Malaysia. The armor is simply marked with numbers (no COO markings), and the mace is just marked with a batch number 1,2,3 or 4.
The mace comes in two versions. One is a standard, green mace, and the second is a much rarer salmon-colored variant. Both have the same semi-rigid consistency, and both tend to develop a virus in the plastic.
