Battle Armor He-Man

SUMMARY:
The Spain Battle Armor He-Man can be identified by its soft head with fluorescent yellow hair, pale, maroon boots, orange belt, light peach emblem with maroon outlines, and silver slashes. The figure is marked © MATTEL INC. 1981. 1983  FRANCE and the accessories are bluish-gray, flexible, and gummy.

The Spain Battle Armor He-Man was fabricated by Congost starting Feb 1986, and culminating with the Battle Armor He-Man with Cassette, in May of 1988.

The initial (1986) release’s chest is molded in gray and painted chrome. It has black leg bands and Congost accessories (blank male sword, SKUs on the axe).

The following editions (1987) transitioned to translucent leg bands and France-marked accessories. The Sword is marked “FRANCE” and is the female mold, and the Axe is marked “MADE IN FRANCE”. This figure came in both chrome-painted and chrome-molded torso.

The chrome-painted, white translucent leg band release is unique, in that the torso is considerably brighter than the initial release. In collector circles, this release is commonly referred to as the “Battle Armor Silver”. This release also has a much softer head than other releases.

The chrome-molded variant shares the same torso color as Battle Armor He-Man Taiwan.

While there can be hue differences in the hair, belt, and boots between figures, I generally consider these to be minor changes and classify them as factory variances.
