The Top Toys Rattlor features a bright brick-red body, a dark mustard-brown belt with a dark green snake emblem, and light yellow chest paint. The neck is a bright yellow, noticeably more saturated than the lighter yellow seen on other COO variants. Its most distinctive characteristic is its unpainted arms.
The figure is marked © MATTEL INC. 1985 on the lower back, while the flexible tail is stamped 2036 2089. The tail shows very subtle injection points, indicative of Taiwan tooling with the COO markings removed or blocked off. The staff is rigid and opaque, molded in the same color as the figure’s body, and marked © MATTEL INC. 1985.
Two variations are known: the standard version with a yellow-painted tail, and a less common variant featuring a pink/cream-painted tail.
