SUMMARY:
Prince Adam, “Heroic Secret Identity of He-Man” was produced in Taiwan, Malaysia, Mexico (Aurimat), Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, France, India and Brazil. This figure comes with a removable fabric vest and belt, and power sword. Like most vintage figures, it has a twisting punch action.
The Aurimat Prince Adam is characterized by muted yellow hair and light brown eyebrows/eyes, light blue/purple boots, light lavender pants, and pale skin tones. The vest is thick, dark purple, and frills easily, the belt is wide and the sword varies considerably in both color and size.
The first release (1985) is marked © Mattel. Inc. 1981, has a pronounced callus in the right hand for better handling of weapons and the shorts and boots are blueish-purple. The belt had a standard yellow button and the belt is wide. The swords can range for this figure from long or short, and the colors could be purple to fuchsia.
The second release (1986) is marked © Mattel. Inc. 1984 MEXICO, no longer has a callus in the hand, and the shorts and boots are a light purple. The sword is small and bright red. The belt has a large, circular belt buckle that uses the Big Jim 007 mold. This variant detail is iconic Aurimat and one of the most sought-after of the Los Amos line!
