Man-e-Faces

SUMMARY:
Man-e-Faces, “Heroic human… robot …monster”, was produced in Taiwan, Spain, Mexico (Aurimat), India, France, Brazil and Argentina. The figure’s head turns to reveal three different faces. It comes with a blaster and like most vintage figures, it has a twisting punch action.

The Aurimat Man-e-Faces variant is distinguished by its light, pale skin tones, grayish-blue accents, fuchsia-colored chest tubes, a very dark purple head knob, and cheek highlights.

Originally released during the second year of the Los Amos del Universo production (1985), this version is marked © MATTEL INC. 1982 FRANCE behind the head. It includes a dark orange, opaque, and very rigid gun also marked FRANCE. This initial release was available with either regular (human-sized) eyes or notably small eyes.

In 1986, a second version appeared, now using Taiwan molds. This figure is marked © MATTEL INC. 1982 TAIWAN, though it retains the same FRANCE-marked gun. This later release is typically found with the small eye variant; a regular eye version has yet to be confirmed. Among collectors, the TAIWAN-stamped version is considered significantly rarer than the earlier FRANCE-stamped release.
