SUMMARY:
You can identify the Hong Kong Teela by the bronze armor highlights over an off-white bodysuit, light tan skin tones in the same color as the Taiwan He-Man, red to brown hair and boots, and opaque, reddish-brown accessories. The figure is marked either © M.I. 1981 or © MATTEL, INC. 1981 behind the neck. The Harness is marked © MATTEL, INC. 1981 HONG KONG, the shield marked HONG KONG, and the staff is unmarked.
The Hong Kong Teela has quite a few variations from one figure to the next. For starters, boots can be in bright red, mid-red, mid-brown, and dark brown. The hair can come in those shades as well, and will not necessarily match the boots in any particular figure.
The face can have a number of variations as well. The pupils can be applied in a thicker pupil paint, or they can be applied in a fine, symmetrical dot. The lips can be a wide variety of pink and red hues. The eyes liner tends to match the hair color and can be in a number of shades and shapes.
The accessories come in either a pale brown or a darker reddish brown. While the harness and the staff seem to stay about the same in terms of mold, there are various variances in the shield. The shield can be similar in mold to Taiwan (except for the HONG KONG markings and the SKU numbers), but it can also have a heavy ridge on the inside. The HONG KONG can be at the top with the SKU numbers at the bottom, or vice versa.
