SUMMARY
The Spain Fisto can be identified by its soft head, brown hair and mustard (or brown) lips, dark purple tones in the belt, boots and armor, and bright silver fist. The armor is also bright painted silver, rather than molded in silver. The Spain Fisto comes in 2 figure variants, and 4 sword variants.
The first edition Fisto is marked © Mattel. Inc. 1983. HONG KONG, with armor marked © Mattel. Inc. 1983. The Fist is larger than the 2nd edition, since it used the Hong Kong mold. The figure’s lips are mustard yellow, and the sword is rigid, purple, and marked MALAYSIA. This figure came with black leg bands. The armor is molded in dark gray, with painted chrome and purple tones.
The second edition Fisto is marked © Mattel. Inc. 1983. SPAIN, with armor marked C MATTEL. INC. 1983. The Fist is smaller, and its lips are dark brown. This is considered the “reedition”, and like most Spain reeditions, has a border/ridge at the top of the shorts. In this case in brown, since the purple belt does not go all the way to the top. As in other later-release Spain figures, the figure comes with translucent leg bands. The armor is molded in dark gray, with painted chrome and purple tones.
These are the sword variants that come with the second edition Fisto:
- Gummy lilac katana with no COO, just numbers
- France marked Broad sword in purple
- France marked broad sword in Lilac
Of those, the 2 lilac swords are the rarest and are considered Spain grails.
