Fisto

SUMMARY:
Fisto, the "heroic hand-to-hand fighter" was produced in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Argentina, France, India, Mexico (Aurimat), and Spain. With his giant, spring-loaded fist, he smashes evil! This figure comes with removable armor, a Katana (Jitsu mold), and has twisting punch action.

The Aurimat Fisto can be identified by its unique lavender colors (boots/belt/armor), pale skin tones, dark Malaysian-style fist, and iconic dark Katana. Released in the third year of the Los Amos del Universo production (1986), the Aurimat Fisto is marked
© MATTEL. INC. 1983 MALAYSIA on the figure and on the back armor. The Fist is marked MALAYSIA, and the Jitsu-style Katana is marked HONG KONG.

Two distinct variants of this figure can be found. The red hair Fisto, and the brown hair Fisto. Both have semi-soft rubber heads, the upper lip painted in the same tone as their hair and seem to be identical, except for the hair color.

The katana comes in two versions.  The purple, and the very dark purple (close to black). They don’t seem to be uniquely paired to any of the two figure variants. The Katana is glossy and flexible but more rigid than an HK Jitsu sword, a characteristic of Aurimat plastic in general.

A curious note with Aurimat is that they have a condition where the skin tones become incredibly pale, almost “albino” like. While this “defect” in the plastic would not be a true variant distinguisher, it is still very cool and highly collectible. The lavender boots can also turn to a blue color (similar to how France Faker’s boots turn from purple to blue).
