Battle Armor Skeletor

SUMMARY:
Battle Armor Skeletor, the “evil lord of destruction” was produced in Taiwan, Mexico (Mabamex + Aurimat), Venezuela, Argentina, Spain, India, and France. Equipped with an ingenious “battle damage” action feature that had three damage indicators, as the chest is struck, the emblem changes from undamaged, to one slash, to two slashes.

The Top Toys Battle Armor Skeletor is characterized by muscular legs, hard head, red eyes, light greenish-yellow face, pink chest emblem with green outline, and a Taiwan-style torso mold with extended shoulders. The figure has no markings and neither do the weapons. You see boot color and chest armor variations from one figure to the next, but these are minor and I would typically classify them as factory variance. (Light purple vs dark purple boots and hoods, etc...)

Where you see the most variation in this figure is in the head itself. Some BA Skeletor heads are molded in the standard purple color, while others are molded in a flesh tone, and painted purple. The flesh tone "head" variants are generally easy to spot, due to the paint wear they develop on the tip of the hood. The paint of the face can vary considerably. Some have a lot of yellow, others have a lot of green. Some have almost the entire eye socket painted red, while some have a greater degree of purple. Another variance that you see with this figure is the tip of the hood. Some have a teardrop shape on the tip, while others have a standard mold tip.

While most figures came with common TT Skeletor weapons, some Battle Armor Skeletors were packed with reedition swords. Lastly, no Battle Armor Skeletors are classified as "Reedition" even though they have reedition-mold muscular legs.
